Opinion on these AK47
I spotted this on gunbroker and was wondering if you guys had any opinions on this?
1982 Romanian 7.62 x 39 AKM-47 kit http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=88612369 Alternatively, this looks much nicer but is double the price: Chinese Norinco MAK90 AK47 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=88386738 |

Re: Opinion on these AK47
NO WAY IN HELL would I pay $900 for an AK. Don't get me wrong, I love my AK's but $400 is tops on price. Bought this on yesterday at the gun show in Knoxville, Paid $325. This one makes #6 in my safe.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...an37879/AK.jpg

Re: Opinion on these AK47
I wouldn't touch that Romanian piece with a 10 foot pole.
It has been re-built, assembled using bolts and explicitly states no warranty or guarantee. I wouldn't buy it unless I was prepared to work on it, maybe re-build it again. While the Norinco AK's have the best internals the price on that one is way to high. It is not really necessary to buy a milled receiver model. The stamped receivers are very good. The receivers on stamped Norinco produced guns have 50% thicker steel than the European made guns. They hold up very well. |

You should PM Money Matters--he knows more about the AK and its cartridge than anyone here.

Re: Opinion on these AK47
You can't screw up an AK-47. Buy the Romanian you'll love it. $900 is way to much to pay for a mak-90. I have a few myself and the AK is a fun shooter. If you did have problems just take it to the next gun show and trade it.
